Fitness Model/Athlete Charla Cormier

The UCW Radio Host Louis Velazquez had the opportunity to have Fitness Model/Athlete Charla Cormier on the Show. Charla Cormier is not only a mother but she is a wife and top rated athlete and fitness model. She grew up in a small town called Marble Falls, Texas and she was the youngest of 3 children. When Charla was 5 years old her parents signed her up for gymnastics class; this was the beginning of an amazing journey for Charla as her love for fitness kicked into high gear. By the age 8 she was a competitive gymnast. In High School she was a varsity Cheerleader, Drill Team Dancer and played Volleyball, all the while still an active athlete. Charla admits that she did not grow up with that sleek toned body of an athlete. After graduating Marble Falls High School in 1992, she taught Gymnastics and attended Austin Community College. She quickly realized college was not for her and continued to follow her passion for fitness. Determined to finally figure out how to achieve that sleek toned body, she became a certified personal trainer and eventually went on to manage a GNC (General Nutrition Center) Store. She learned so much from both jobs, but still did not achieve the body of her dreams. In 2000 Charla got married to her wonderful and supportive husband Rob. The couple resided in Austin, TX at the time and like most couples decided to start a family; Charla and Rob wasted no time and she got pregnant right away. Unfortunately, during the 7th month of her pregnancy the doctors had to do an emergency C-section because their son had developed a heart anomaly; he passed away just 6 days later. This was a huge tragedy for Charla and Rob, one that takes a lot of inner strength and a strong marriage to get through. During those rough times, they made a joint decision to make a change, they needed a change, so they moved out to California. Her husband started a new job and they were finally getting back to a normal life. They decided to start that family we always dreamed about. They had their second son in 2003 and a little girl in 2004; both were very healthy babies. Charla says “Wow, becoming a Mommy certainly changes your body!! I had reached 170lbs and was very depressed and miserable! After seeing a picture of me standing next to my Mom and looking as big as a house, something snapped! I refused to be an out of shape mom and wife.” So Charla wanted to show everyone especially all the new mothers around the world that the over weight MOMMY MOLD could be broken! Charla, not afraid to jump in head first, decided to enter herself in an NPC figure competition to give her a goal to focus on. Now keep in mind this wasn’t years afterwards, Charla Cormier stepped on an NPC stage just nine months after having her daughter, she competed at a weight of 126 pounds and placed 6th out of 12 women that competed, this was the beginning of a new life for Charla. In her own words, “I WAS HOOKED! I was so proud of myself for finally reaching my fitness goal and accomplishing something I thought was impossible; especially after having a C-section! ” Ever since that fateful day when something snapped in Charla to compete in her first fitness competition, she hasn’t stopped, she went to the National Level, she became a certified personal trainer for Anytime Fitness ([email protected]), a fitness model/athlete for All American EFX (www.aaefx.com), She has graced the covers of a few magazine covers, she is one of the developers of the new eating plan called The Cave Man Plan (www.thecavemanplan.com), and on top of all of that she is sponsored by Eric Nolan’s Xtreme Martial Arts and Fitness Center (www.ericnolan.com), but most of all, and quoting from Charla once again, “I AM ONE HAPPY MOMMY.” Charla’s journey is an amazing one, she broke through adversity and not looking for it she found her purpose, as sometimes things happen in life for a reason. She has succeeded in reaching many of her goals because of the support and love of her family, friends, sponsors and her faith in the lord. She goes on to say “I am very fortunate and proud to be where I am today. My main goal though, is to be a good mother, wife and role model for her family. My passion is fitness and teaching others to MAKE A GOAL, NOT AN EXCUSE. I truly believe you can achieve any goal once you set your mind to it. The KEY is You must believe in yourself and put all excuses aside!” “Success is just a reach away , GO FOR IT—BELIEVE IN YOURSELF AND NEVER LOOK BACK– YOU CAN DO IT! ” continues Charla and she leaves us with this message: “Love life and stay fitness focused, Charla.” “I asked Charla if she would ever be open to being a guest celebrity on Dancing with the Stars due to her dancing background, and the answer was an astounding yes, her story is amazing and she is destined for great things in the future.” Stated Louis Velazquez , host of the UCW Radio Show                     www.thecavemanplan.com www.myspace.com/reimroc www.aaefx.com Charlas Official Blog: www.aaefx.com/cormier/blog

Model/Actress Angell Lee-Ann

The UCW Radio Host Louis Velazquez had the opportunity to have Model and Actress Angel Lee-Ann on the show, she is definitely one that you need to keep your eye on in the very near future. About Angel in Her Words. I believe in living your life now, to the full…i don’t want to get to a age where I’m too old, and looking back on my life with big regrets…and feeling like there is nothing you can now do about it…almost like life’s past you by,.. where you’re maybe in a job that you cant stand and have just accepted it, and carried on day to day….wishing you were somewhere else, living the life you had always wished for. The beginning of this year I was doing just that, I had recently got out of a very unhappy long relationship, which had held me back in fulfilling my dreams I once had before.I was running my own business in home security here in the UK for many years, it had been very successful, and my family still continues to work in this line of business today, but for me, finally being single, I decided to take up acting classes in the evenings after I closed my business for the day.I studied acting in film and TV, I loved this so much and decided this is what i wanted to pursue further, but it had become very difficult juggling both my business which i ran by myself and being able to go out to any potential castings etc…it would be impossible…So I had to put that on hold for a little while. In mid 2008 I went on a girlie holiday to L.A and was approached by a manager/agency there, they then signed me to a semi exclusive contract for at least a year…to join his books…a warning to people that I’ve learned along the way is unfortunately be careful who you sign with, be careful what spill “managers” etc will give you to maybe get you signed up etc. I’ve learnt the hard way, but least i know now…how he promised this and that., how he had investors involved with big budget films they were to be filming end of last yr and i was promised this part and that part in this film they’d be filming and all of that, I learned the hard way because it had wasted a lot of time for me. At that time I was stuck on my end not being able to go out to any other castings in case I was told he needed me to fly out in few weeks time for filming? So I ended the contract this year and took a big decision as my lease for my shop/business was coming up for renewal to either re-sign for a further 5 yrs and stick at the business i was good at “the safe option” or to get out, I chose to “get out” and take the chance, this leaving the security of a guaranteed income. I knew that I couldn’t run my own business and be able to travel or work away if needed…it was a gamble, but one i was willing to take. I signed up with a new manager in USA at World Entertainment Agency in late 2009, so it is all still very new to me, but wow how different this company is to the last I had been signed with. They are extremely professional and I have since had interest from Playboy USA. I had been approached from a music producer who has worked with groups like the Chemical Brothers to name one and he asked me to do vocals to one of his new tracks he had done, I’ve since finished that, and are in the very last stages of the video I’m in being filmed for it…I’m being cast in a UK film for cinema, filming starts in November. I have a photo shoots lined up in Miami at the end of October and many little projects that are all coming together…all very exciting! I’m feeling 2010 is going to be a great year for me, if it carries on the way its going =0}…and then my story will be of a happy one to tell , how not to sit back and let life pass you by, how only a few months back i was stuck in my 9-5 job day in day out same thing…looking out the window dreaming…wishing I was doing something else, wishing my life was some what different, to now all these different opportunities that are now coming my way, and I’m now free to be able to travel and take on any new jobs that are offered to me. “Angel went through a bumpy road but sometimes its better to have that negative stuff out early than to have it come later in her career, I believe that this experience will lead her to achieve greats things in not only her career but in her life, ” said Louis Velazquez host of The UCW Radio Show Websites: www.myspace.com/1angelll

Inspired by her parents musical talents, Neekola has been involved in music since childhood. The early years were spent in rock bands as a lead singer, keyboard player and songwriter. However, upon moving to Germany in 1997, Neekola was introduced to her soulmate, electronic dance music. She spent so much of her time dancing in the nightclubs within Europe. It was during this time she was inspired to pursue music production. After having a bit of trouble, she was advised by her mentors in the industry that she should first learn to DJ, and then her production skills would come naturally soon after. So she headed on out to NYC’s Scratch Academy, learned the basic skills, acquired her own turntable setup, and then her life changed forever….. “DJing has given me the ability to share my passion with people all over the world, whether we speak the same language or not, and it has helped me to inspire others as music has inspired me throughout my life” -Neekola. She also works hard to give back to the community and donates a lot of her own time to help raise funds and awareness for charity, and is an advocate for living a healthy lifestyle. “Music is such a powerful tool. The best way to use this power is to promote good messages, such as having fun, dancing, and positive attitude with the best beats and lyrics I can find as well as create myself. This positivity, enthusiasm, and good spirit comes from within and is recognized by those on the dance floor, and in turn I am rewarded by happy faces, pumping fists and dancing feet.” -Neekola. Neekola is currently working very hard on releasing her first original electronic album, “All of You”, dedicated to all of the people in her life that have inspired and helped her become the person, and the artist she is today. “This is one of those people that you know will rise to the top due to not only their abilities but how they carry themselves, her humbleness and appreciation beyond her exceptional skill is what separates her from the rest,” said Louis Velazquez, UCW Radio Show Host       Websites www.djneekola.com www.myspace.com/neekoladj
